Sunbeam/Chrysler started using connectors like that when they started production of the fastback Alpines and Arrows after they stopped production of the series 5 Alpine and Tigers.

Maybe I can get Reg to help me. He lives close. The good part is that this isn't my first beam that came back to my shop looking like this and all the parts are ready to be put back on....
