Stock shifter boot above or below the carpet?

You would think that you would get a better seal on the hump under the carpet, but with my original carpet it looks crappy. The carpet hole is smaller and covers up the boot.

Looks like it should...

It was that oil galley plug at the back end of the top of the block below the intake manifold mentioned by SPMDR.

Oil Pressure Tester

Valve Cover Decal (Which side?)

Does the engine number decal go on the oil filler side (driver) and the Ford decal go on the pcv side (passenger) or vice versa?

Are they different btwn MKs, ie one way on MKIs and the oppoosite...
