Since I am about to repair my front end Ive been thinking about upgrading the brakes. I know for about $1000 I can get Wilwoods, I dont have that much money. I have been doing research, and there are 2 common up grades for mg's and trimphs also some alfas, and bmw's. Toyota 4 piston from a 79-83 4x4 pickup, or Girling 4 pistons from a 240 series Volvo. Anybody know anything about these swaps for a Tiger. Or any thing else for that matter.
These are the articles Ive read

The last one's in french but you can see the fit.

Jim Ellis did the Volvo disc upgarde a while back.. there were also some 4 piston calipers (mi-16 maybe outlaw as a model or brand?) that worked on the alpine/tiger front, i'll see if i can dig up the info.

I was told a high quality brake pad for a 1970-73 240Z Datsun provides about a 15% larger footprint, aside from rebuilding my calipers and adding custom steel braided brake lines I'm hoping the car will stop. Don't forget there are some good upgrades shoes for the rear brakes which can't hurt the overall stopping performance.

At SUNI an Alger owner had Wildwood info. He promised that just doing the front istallation worked so well you could leave the rears stock and never worry about stopping. ($850) He had a beautiful car but I did notice he had Wildwoods front and back. Perhaps an employee discount gave him such a break he installed the rears evntho he didnt need them. I would like to know what rear shoes to purchase that gives the improvement mentioned.
TtT:)
