Spacer

You might enjoy the benefits of a phenolic spacer, it looks like bakelite plastic and is a good insulator between the intake and the carb. You don't want the heat to transfer to your carburetor, doing so will make fuel "boil or percolate", in some instances in hot weather giving you a car that doesn't run well or at all. A nice spacer you can find on an Ebay search is from a Boss 302 application. It's about 3/8" thick and still provides a tube to plug your pcv valve into, or you can plug it off if you have a different route. If you can't find it, try Summit or one of the Mustang supply business's. One word of caution is the thickness and how much room you have left once the hood is closed, crumple up some tin foil loosely and close your hood before you get a spacer, then you will have some sort of an idea of the room available and thickness of the spacer needed. With so many intakes out there, this is a good exercise to check before you go too far:)
Just my 2 cents
