289 Heads on a 260

What effect would putting on a set of 289 heads have on a 260 engine?

What are the advantages and are there any disadvantages?

From what I have read. On the plus side 289 heads breath better. On the minus side they have larger chambers so will lower compression.

When I bought my Tiger it had 289 heads on the 260. Engine did sound lazy with the low comp. It went OK but I had nothing to compare it with.

That's how mine is set up and it runs great with plenty of power. From what I understand, the 289 heads are an improvement. I haven't checked the compression, so I'm not sure if that is adversely affected.
