I'm working on a parts list necessary to replace my 260 with an older block 302. The 302 I have has the front sump and front dipstick. It sure looks like the 302 timing cover works, but I thought I would ask the experts here. I'd like to keep the 260 as complete as possible if it's return to the engine bay of the tiger is desired.

Thanks,

I would just use the 260 timing cover on the newer 302 and then swap it back to the 260 if you ever reinstall that motor. That's what I did.

The new timing covers have different water pump depths, exit sides, etc and it could get messy trying to get pulleys to line up. Using all of the original Tiger stuff is your best bet.

Thanks. Does that mean you would use the 260 harmonic balancer too?
