Anyone used the re silvering stuff online?
Early mirrors are slightly convex.

I know later flat ones are available, and the day night flip type from Sunbeam Specialties.

I have not used whatever you are referring too...but

I had my small convex mirror resilvered by a local antique restoration shop that also does antique mirrors. The mirror surface was in very bad shape. Although the results are not blemish free they did a good job...much better than it was. Cost me $60.

If you looked around out your way, I would not be surprised if you found a similar shop. Even try googling resilver mirrors.

Good luck.

I got was from Paul Scofield and the quote was a 100 bucks. I did Google it and found a DiY kit. I have a Volkswagen bug one that is year specific that I need to do as well.
60 bucks sounds like a fair price as the process to strip of the old silver and backing then reapply is a little fiddly and results are dependent on cleaning of the glass something I'm not too great at like doing windows :)
