Wheel Offset

Seems there's enough variability in our cars across enough areas that it makes it hard to say definitively whether the 205 is going to stick out too far with a 6" wheel and ET20. Also, some 205's are wider than others...seriously.

I will say that you can run 195's square on 6"f/7"r wheels and have a very good handling (relative phrase) Tiger. You can also get good 195 tires (Toyo R1R, Dunlop Z2 Star Spec) in a 55 aspect ratio, rather than 50, which gives a little more sidewall and diameter. In the 195/50-15 size (or 205/50, for that matter) you have tons of choices, including the newest generation performance tires.

Rota tells me he has the 15 x 6" rims in a 25mm backspacing
If I understand correctly, this will position the wheel another 5mm inward (compared to the 20 backspacing) ???

As long as this will clear the mechanical components then this sounds like the better option for the front,

I'm not at home this week to eyeball where ET22 puts a 6" rim in relation to hard parts, but ET25 is only another .10" or so backspace, so I'd guess you'd be okay.

My tire spreadsheet tells me that the BFG Rival S runs narrowest in the 205/50-15 size. And it is a great tire, too. The 205/50-15 Federal RS595 I'm currently running is about .3" wider (7.2" vs 6.9" when mounted on a 6.5" rim). All data provided by my friend at Tire Rack.

The 25mm backspacing then sounds like the ticket on the front with a 6" rim and hopefully a "skinny" 205 tyre

With 7" rims on the rear, and either a 205 or 215/50, will the 25mm backspace clear the spring or is a 20mm required
