Have my rear axle out and installed new brgs., seals and a posi.

Car has about 30,000 miles on it and has not run since 1981 so I was surprised to see so many cracks. Have read about them for years.

Frame Crack to the rear of the mount:

Looks like I have some fabrication of reinforcement plates, cleanup and welding ahead.

Haven't checked the forward rear spring mounts yet.

Corrosion Swells

We deal with this issue with almost every re-hab. Any layered metal splice will gather corrosion in between the panels and swell over time thus causing cracks. Many vibration and stress cracks happen easily once the metal has already been weakened my mother nature's rash exposure. It's common for us in the Nor'east to remove large sections of metal and re-fab fresh stock.
My advise would be to cut away all the bad (after templating) and leave nothing to chance.

Yes, I plan on doing something similar in both places.

The car still had a decent amount of undercoat on it except in areas that were flexing.

Got to practice up om my vertical welding...........

Where's the kit?

I tried to write Tom some time ago on this kit and got no response. Is he even making this kit any longer?
