Hi Eric, that's pretty clever (or lucky) overlapping the United with the Dayton British show.

I would bet it was planned that way. I wonder if the concourse will be at the Dayton british show.

Thanks Bob J.-not lucky at all! We have attended that British car show in Dayton for a few years and it is a great location for a show with lots of shade trees and plenty of space for the cars. The hosts are delighted that we will have a huge number of Rootes cars at their show and are working with us to make sure everyone has a great time. They have well over 250 cars at their show every year and there are quite a few rare cars to look over as well as many vendors in the swap meet area. Hope that you can join us at United 34!

dayton show

Hi Eric, that's why I put 'clever' first, it's a great idea to merge a United into another bigger british show for a day.

Of course a lot more tigers will be at the Dayton show then there would be if the events were 2 weeks apart so the Dayton organizers will be happy too.

The dictionary of ridiculous business jargon calls that a 'win-win'.

Let's hope you achieve synergy.

Maybe I'm reading too many Dilbert cartoons.

TE/AE United 34 updates!

United update:
Over 50 of our hotel rooms have been sold out of 100 rooms blocked so please reserve your room before the block of rooms expires on July 9th to get the special United room rate! Also early United registration along with the lower fees ends on July 1st. If you want your Tiger TAC’ed please mark it down on the registration form so we can get your car scheduled.
We are going to have several interesting tech sessions-Tom Patton is bringing his race Tiger to the United and will have a tech session about his racing season and his car preparation. John Engle will give us information about classic car insurance and current car values so we can drive our cars and not worry about them!
There will be a huge hospitality room and parts room this year-over 2200 square feet of space! So bring those spare parts of yours to swap or sell and join the fun. Club member and vintner Curt Hoffman will present a special wine tasting session in our hospitality room and talk about his hobby too.
The autocross this year is shaping up to be a really special one at a nearby race track. No previous experience is needed so give it a try! It will be fun for everyone.
The local US Air Force Museum is going to have reserved parking for us to visit their incredible museum. Here is a link to some of the displays and aircraft http://www.cdsg.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=381 You may want to come a day early or stay later to see it all!
The banquet will be served buffet style with special menu requests (no MSG, gluten free, or vegetarian) taken care of by the restaurant staff with advance notice on your registration form.
The British car show on Saturday will honor our Sunbeams as the featured marque this year. Several hundred British cars will be there in a beautiful shaded park and after the show is over we will have a catered BBQ dinner served to us at the park.
So make your plans and come join us at United 34 in Dayton, Ohio July 30th to August 2nd!

Get those registrations in and reserve your hotel room!

Folks, early registration time is running out, July 1st will be here in less than 10 days. Not only will the price go up, but anyone who wants shirts for the event, or free ones for the car show will be out of luck. There may be some extras for the United, but no guarantees. So if you haven't yet, get those registrations in!!
Our block of hotel rooms will expire on July 9th and 70 rooms are sold so far with only 30 left as of today. This will be the largest Sunbeam gathering in the country this year!

This is the last day for early registration!

We're getting closer and closer. Right now we have around 150 folks coming, 47 Tigers, 26 Alpines and 7 other Rootes. The Dayton show has never seen a turnout of Sunbeams like this. We'd love to have as many of you as can come so if you're thinking of coming, get those reservations in!!

Air Force Museum special tours available

We just got this info yesterday. The tours of the presidential planes are now open and the info below tells how to sign up for them while at the museum. Also we will have reserved parking for our cars too.

As you come down
the museum driveway, take the first left and then the 2nd left after passing
the playground. You will have plenty of space for all your cars to park.

The Presidential buses have started up again. When we open at 0900 you will
enter the museum on the Visitor Parking Lot side. Walk on the sidewalk and
follow it around the building to the entrance door.
Go through the gift shop and turn to your left, where there is a
presidential sign up desk. Everyone will need a current driver's license or
passport, unless they are under 18. First bus orientation starts at 0915.
There are 8 bus trips a day, but they only take 39 per bus. Would suggest
your people sign up first, before doing anything else. Have provided a web
address that explains a little more about the tour. There is no charge to use
the museum buses.

There is no charge to visit the museum either.

We got here last night and here is the Sunbeam parking lot-it will hold over 100 cars. We will have to get these military vehicles to move out of here by tomorrow!
Have a safe trip everyone and see you soon.
