Clutch Slave function heat problem

The dreaded heat soak from the headers prompted my PO to wrap the aft section below the slave with f/g cloth muffler wrap and flush and replace to a high temp racing DOT 4 fluid. After a long drive leave the car parked for 20 minutes or more and the action suffers and becomes rather choppy.

I have since removed the wrap and installed a Dale's LAT hood. I was thinking of a dual or tri tubed venting system with a port and starboard tube turned down at the aft section of block. Center tube to be directed at carby.

I hesitate to build a small metal heat shield with a small piece of concrete Hardy backer 3'' x 5" or so but I fear the heat and the fluid loss will severly shorten the service live of the slave cyl.

Ideas fellas?
