Rear Bump stop

In my quest to find out why my rt rear tire rubs on some bumps but not speed bumps or cornering. I checked to see if I had bump stops and I do but they are mounted on the axle. I my shop manual it looks like they are mounted on the body . It seems like the tire hits before the bump stop hits. My car has a rear disk brake conversion so I thought that was why.
Any ideas?
Thank you

John, the bump stops are supposed to be mounted on the rear axle- the shop manual confirms this. They are there to limit the suspension travel at the max. Why your tire rubs will require some detective work. Different tire/wheel combos affect tire height and different wheel offsets affect the side clearances. Kirk
