Just picked a 66 up.

Not sure which direction I am going to go with it.

Its a 2 owner car with an older paint job.

I like to keep it original looking but going with the updated, suspension, brakes, etc.

Let the fun? begin

Lots of questions to follow............

Interesting car. Appears to be a cross body mki.

I note the right rear fender has some subtle flare and looks like 7" wide wheels on the back?

The right front arch appears to have some trimming of the lip for tyre clearence.

You also have a very valuable mkii tiger tachometer.

Michael,

Thanks for the input.

I was not aware of the tach being a Mk11, bonus!

I picked up a truck load of parts with the car as well, the previous owner stated he has owned 7 tigers over the years and was ready to just enjoy the one he had.

I haven't gone thru everything yet, but I do know I have a really nice hardtop complete with all trim, latches and window frames that needs minimal restoration.

The car does have a 289 with original toploader and rear end.

I did send pictures of the car to Norman prior to purchasing, and he verified original rivets as well as it being in the registry.

Looking forward to enjoying the car for a long time.

I feel the car should remain as original as possible, but appreciate any input on what to look for first.

The car has been sitting for a while so need to go thru it before driving any distance.

Also curious about the cross body reference?

To answer your question, yes it does have a set of Superlites on it
6" in front, 7" in rear.

The wheels have been slightly flared and the hood scfalloop does show cracking.

It is a good driver now, but I plan on starting the plans for restoration asap.

Thinking about heading to Virginia in Sept and having it TAC'd

Cross Over Car

Having a combo of square corners on the doors and hood and a round corner boot lid. Those look like the early pedals as well.

I got a late MK1a with a speedo from a MK2 . It was a nice offset off the purchase price. Earlier tachometers can be easy to find or there is a new vendor in U.K. making a repop with modern guts that'll work on modern ignition for the cost of an original one that you still have to change internal board on.

Is that a fresh CAT sticker or was it applied by the P.O.

Welcome

Warren,

No the C.A.T. sticker is from the previous owner.

I am going to update Norm now that I have possession of the car.

I guess now that I am the owner, I need to join myself.

By the records I have, 2 owners '66-'97 and '97-'17.

I do have their names, may reach out to see if I can get any history.

Thanks
