Tigers at Mecum this weekend

Anyone care to take a guess on final sales price ranking 1 - 4 with 1 being the highest? Better yet, with a guess at the price?

Shot in dark

But I'll take a shot.
No.1 does not meet reserve or estimate no sale.
2. 45-48
3. 50-55
4. 42 ish.

Really hard to tell seems like they do not want phone or internet bidders as most eBay sales seem to have better details, and pics.

#1 $40-45K
#2 $35-40K
#3 $45-55K
#4 $30-40K

#4 has a personalized dash

guessing

Just to be lazy here I would use Warren's numbers and add about 5%.

That first car's estimate of $100k to $125k seems really optimistic.

It will be interesting to see the effect of having 4 red cars selling in the same auction.

If I was a seller I might try to go last.

I was at a surplus land sale years ago where 9 very similar lots in Marina Del Rey were being auctioned off by the city of LA.

The first 2 or 3 sold at a pretty reasonable amount and then the sale price for each subsequent lot rose about 5% until the last one sold for about twice the price of the first. Bidders started out cautious and then the fear of leaving empty handed took over.

What's that thing on the hood of car #2? a cooling louver for the generator waste heat?

Highest

#1 $40-45K
#2 $35-40K
#3 $45-55K
#4 $30-40K

#4 has a personalized dash

I agree with Norm that the highest is #3.
Here's my rating:
#3 $55K
#2 $45K
#1 no sale
#4 $35K
However the fact that they are all red may hold pricing down a bit.

Machine gun doors

I agree with Warren, that #1 car is probably looking for BIG money and won't meet reserve... it's part of someone's collection and has a lot of cars ( mostly Fords ) on the block http://www.mecum.com/auctions/group_consignment_list.cfm?AUCTION_ID=FL0114&GROUP_ID=10150

I like the #3 car... been TAC'ed, has hardtop, has a nice stance and I'm partial to MK1A's and blood red paint so I'd pick it as highest of those that sell

#2 is also TAC'ed , comes with a hardtop and I'd guess it will sell 'close' to the #3 car price...

#4... I see some things... makes me think it will sell for the least

I think that we'd all agree that a 5 min. walk around in person could change our view of ALL 4 ... but I recall another auction where we had an on site observer or two and they pegged one car at around $50K and I think it didn't meet reserve north of $100K !
Ya just never know

Tiger 1a at Barrett Jackson tonight

Watched the red Mk 1a go up tonight. They did not spend a lot of time going over the car so could not get a lot of info, but it did look real nice. Hammered at $60,000. Then add 10% buyers premium.

Red and yellow at BJ PALE v gooding

White car. Not even close. I have pics and vid of it running. Beautiful car. No, not perfectly correct but next to either bj car, a huge delta. The white should go for much more IMHO. The red had issues as well, but would drive all day. The white would be tougher the chrome alone is fantastic. All the cars at gooding were a cut above.

The white has non correct bits but they're so clean. The car looks new. The red interior is awesome. No TAC could be found by me or other serious scrutineers. They even lifted carpet around tunnel. These guys knew tigers... Wonder if on here... ?

Est was 70-90. But if red went $60... Much more $ to get either bj car to this level.http://www.vimeo.com/84366646

Did anyone happen to catch what that White Tiger at Goodings went for?? I found a listing for it on Hemmings for $75K...
I watched the auction live ( streaming internet ) yesterday for a while but it had already gone through...

Edit:. it now shows sold @ $77K

I love the English fellow doing the auctioneering..nice change from the usual 'Elmer Fudd' style :D

BTW, the first of the 4 red 'Mecum' tigers #4 on my list Lot #K107 didn't meet reserve @ $37K I would have been surprised if had been bid higher

Looks like there were actually 5 Tigers at Mecum as the one I just found was listed as Rootes Sunbeam so my search didn't pick it up initially... yep... It's ALSO red ! lol

http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?CFGRIDKEY=FL0114-180524

It's already done and didn't meet reserve @ $27K bid
A little rough but looked to have some potential

yet another edit: I found a listing from a couple months ago for the #3 car on the list... It was $38500 at Vantage Motor cars in Florida...
Several of us have pegged it @ $50K+ ... We'll know on Wed. for sure

another update... the #1 car on this list that a few of us have pegged at big $$$ and may not meet reserve... was actually at last year's Kissimmee auction and didn't meet reserve @ $110K

Wow!! that would seem like a bargain considering the yellow Barrett-Jackson car was $41800 with what appeared to be NO door glass, vent wings, hardtop, dash pad, etc. etc. etc. ...

I agree that it was a bargain, especially with the hardtop. Watch for #2 tomorrow. Seems a bit strange that Mecum is running the two best first.

This Mecum auction is way too long, prices are soft and they are becoming just a used car dealer.
