I believe there were 47 cars on the grid with both Ap & Bp cars mixed together.
Starke Shelby finished cleanly, which was his main goal but Tom Sakai had his hood pop open late in the race so he then called it a day. He had been passing a number of cars so the hood thing hurt what was shaping up as a really good outing.
John ended up 14th overall and about 3rd in Bp (behind 2 GT350s). He would have probably done better but a caution flag let several cars catch up and then get around as he was boxed in on a restart. No big problems on our end (We did shear off a Grade 8 motor mount bolt which broke where it enters the block which will give us something to do before we run it again in October.) Basically the course was very slippery and none of the Tigers could get their tires anywhere near minimum much less optimum operating temperatures which gives us something to think about improving for next season.
Tom and Dan Walters are now quickly shuffling things around before they take 3 Tigers east for a race at Watkins Glen followed by another at Road America. Dan installed a 3.07 rear end in Tom's Tiger today. Dan starts towing east this Sunday.
Thanks for the update, i watched the race on Sunday and saw John get boxed in on the run to turn 1 on the restart.
He drove a good race, the coverage spoke of the scf car for a couple of minutes and showed it just after the comaro got past and as he batteled the gt350.
Starke's car got some air time as leaders lapped it and toms yellow car didnt seem to get much screen time.
The bigger block cars are a harder feild to.be in.
Steve and Tom also got some airtime and were running close all race. In the telecast they were featured in the battle for 1st and second .. Sadly... Not in the actual.mix for places though...
