Did anyone from the forum go and see the Aussie V8 supercars at the circuit of the Americas in Texas over the weekend? Was there much coverage of it on TV in the states?

Speed TV

The Speed Cable Channel seems to have aired the race.

Story: http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/dagys-a-bright-future-for-v8-supercars-in-america/

I checked their schedule? http://www.speedtv.com/schedule//filter/program/804383 And the Austin TX race repeats tonight at 9 only a half hour from now. I will record it. The V8's are a good show. Like our own Trans Am in the 70's. Racing "cars" Not "race cars" like NASCAR. Ford (Falcon) vs GM (Holden aka Pontiac GTO).

Thanks for letting me know.

Rick.. i am sad to say.. that was the case until this year! They are new 'cars of the future" format. Hence the inclusion of the Mercs and Nissans this year. They now all have the same chassis, box and diff.. but have the factory body panels and they run their own companies engines. I guess they have a far closer resemblance to street cars than NASCAR.. but it is now a silhouette formula to some extent.

As for FORD.. well they have just announced on Friday that as of 2016 they will stop manufacture of cars in Australia.. so no more Aussie designed and built Falcons..
