The LA Shelby Club is inviting CAT members to their annual Holiday Party/Toy Drive. Entry requires bringing a $15 unwrapped toy. The event is held outside. If you live on the Westside and want to see a bunch of Ford-powered cars and do some good (toy drive), consider stopping by. Steven Alcala.

Here is the info from their website:

Our Annual Holiday Party will be on Saturday, Dec. 4th starting at noon...

It'll be at Check Point Automotive - 3906 Grand View Blvd in L.A. (Just one mile west of the 405 Freeway and 1.5 blocks south of Venice Blvd).

Please bring a new, unwrapped toy(s) or sports equipment to our Annual Holiday Party. We usually like to donate "car related gifts", but you can bring any type of gift, for an infant to a 17 year old (worth at least $15) and/or canned/packaged food items and/or hygiene items for those in need.

We will be donating the items to the New Challenge Ministries, located in Torrance, is the largest food bank in the South Bay and have been serving meals to thousands of families in need since 1981. New Challenge Ministries is one of only a few charities that are able to continue to serve the community, and LASAAC supports their efforts in providing goods and services to families in need.

Over the last many years, our club has been able to contribute hundreds and hundreds of toys and thousands of dollars to very worthy causes such as this.

Once again, we'll have our BBQ grill hot, with Chef Greg Barbiera preparing his wonderful Burgers and Hot Dogs. There'll be lotsa food, lotsa drink, lotsa cool cars... the party starts at noon and goes on till about 4PM...ish. Here are the directions ==> M A P

* We need items of any type to auction off for our annual charity, so if you would like to donate items or services to be auctioned off, please send an email to lasaac@yahoo.com with what you or your business would like to offer. Or, drop it off at Check Point Automotive, before or on the day of our party!

... We'll be auctioning off these items during the party to raise money for our favorite LASAAC charities!

Since this falls on the first Saturday of the month it's a good time to mention what else is happening*.
The Palos Verdes Concourse group is back. Not at the peninsula center location but on top of the parking deck adjacent to the fire station and just behind the movie theater area. They provide coffee at their tent and rock and roll. Not for your ears but the floating garage deck is a little uncomfortable. There's a great mix and at the old location "peninsula center," Near the Mod Pizza location the non sanctioned group I've been hanging with is there mostly the Austin Healey club guys driving their other cars.

If one was of the mind to do so it's a nice drive lots of nice roads between Palos Verdes and the West side toy drive or possibly hand off a pile of stuff for delivery to their event.
* The below link doesn't show the event mainly because too many people plus those who are inconsiderate and lead footed got us booted from Peninsula Center, although me and my bad penny friends keep turning up :)

SEASONS GREETINGS FROM THE ALCALAS!

We want to wish happy holidays to everyone in CAT! Special thanks to Buck and Claudia and their team for making SUNI a great event! Another shout out to Bill G. for two decades of excellent work with CAT Parts! Thank you also to our newsletter editor, Mike M. and our webmasters, whoever the hell they are. FYI, our Sebring Alpine is awaiting a new fuel cell ($$$$), and our two Tigers are still in a hundred pieces (maybe 2022). We had to take our photo with this GT (like most good Alpines, it has a V6).
