I have gotten excellent results from Chris Reed. And I understand Eric G. makes a DIY kit ready to put together.

Erics kit is a delrin hub iirc.. So aint going to fail in our lifetimes

And yes they are machined from Delrin-not cast plastic.

So maybe adding Chris as a resource is the thing. Did he pick up the craft from Ken Corbin or were they working together as I have heard in the past.
It's challenging repairing, hubs cracked wood and the black plastic strip.

I have used at least 2 of Eric's hubs... can only say that it is a beautiful solution to the problem of a cracked hub and works just like it should
