We'll have 3 classes: Stock, Personalized and Modified.
Here are the principles to use when deciding which class to enter your Tiger in.
The Stock Class is designed to recognize cars that have been kept in showroom stock condition. They will not be penalized for the use of LAT Options.
The Modified Class is meant for cars that have been modified so as to significantly change the look of the car and/or significantly enhances the performance of the Tiger, especially in the Autocross.
The Personalized Class lies in the middle and contains cars that have been changed and accessorized to reflect the owner's personal taste. Autocross performance should not be significantly improved over those in the Stock Class.
Examples:
1) A Tiger is equipped with an aftermarket brake system with vented front rotors with a diameter over 12" and modern 4 piston calipers are utilized. Since this would significantly enhance the braking capacity of the vehicle it should be entered in Modified.
2) A Tiger has been equipped with rear discs. A 10 inch rotor is used with two puck calipers having 1.5" pistons. This system would not significantly improve braking over either the stock or the LAT disk brakes so the car would not be required to run in modified.
3) A Tiger with a 450HP stoker motor wants to compete in Personalized. Since this represents a significant change in performance the car should be entered in Modified.
4) A Tiger has a Torque Arm installed to prevent wheel hop. There is no significant improvement in performance over a Tiger using LAT Traction Masters to do the same thing.
5) A Tiger is basically stock with modifications such as a modern aluminum radiator, American Racing aluminum wheels, a T5, and a Mota Lita steering wheel. Since none of these changes significantly affect Autocross speed it should not be placed in Modified. It should go into either Personalized or Stock. However because all the changes and the deductions they'd get in Stock, most owners would choose Personalized.
The TU Committee has complete discretion to change a car's class. I you have any questions feel free to call the TU Chair, Claudia Trippel, for assistance.
