The weather forecast was for heavy thunderstorms but instead we had beautiful shirtsleeve weather today for the official opening of the Archive.
The 4 Trustees from the Banbury area have beautifully transformed the bare space that greeted us only last October. They have since installed interior walls and partitions on the ground floor and storage racks for the roll drawings on the mezzanine. Interior electrical has been run and the research and scanning area on the mezzanine is now an excellent and impressive space.
Several trustees spoke along with Lord Nick Rootes while the Reverend Bill Rootes handled the scissors for the ceremonial ribbon cutting with more than a half dozen family members watched.
It was a very wonderful and special day for all members of the Rootes Marque.
