Heater Control Cable Location

I am finishing up all of the dash connections. I know the heater control vale cable comes out in the engine bay above the fender brace bracket connection, and the vale attaches to the brace. The trouble I am having is seeing where the cable is routed on the inside of the cabin. Can anyone provide a picture, or describe where it goes through the firewall from inside the car?

Thanks!

There is a small hole in the firewall and the cable goes back through it. See picture below.

But where does it go on the INSIDE of the car????

I routed it through a hole just to the left of the fresh air vent box, and it came out of the hole you show in the engine compartment and it is TOO SHORT to reach the control valve.

Mine comes in, heads over the blower outlet,

Loops on the topside of the blower,

Then to the temp control lever.

Ken,

Thank you for taking the time to take these difficult shots and posting the photos to help a fellow Tiger owner get his car back together.

Perfect! This is exactly what I needed.

So, it looks like the cable goes between the right side of the fresh air box and between that and the drain tube from the heater core box. It appears that the hole to get into the engine compartment is BEHIND the fresh air box. That would account for why I could not see the opening.

Thanks a lot Ken!

When we have the body stripped in the shop, I always feed a stiff wire (coat hanger) thru the access holes for the cables and washer plumbing. Bend them over and tape them so they are there and ready for assembly.

There are two different possible routings. Early cars have a longer heater valve cable than the Mk1a and Mk2

Ken's pictures were a huge help in determining where the cable is supposed to go. After multiple attempts with a coat hanger aiming in that direction, we have SUCCESS!!

Thanks to all who gave suggestions.
