JAL Tag

All – could you advise if I could obtain a blank original of the JAL tag? I own B9472878 HROFE with TAC 0878, imported to Aust out of the US a few years back. In approx. 2004, in the US, the car was put on a rotisserie and its colour changed from Forest Green to White and it appears, the original JAL tag was lost/replaced as the tag (see photo) is non original. Note the car was TAC'd after the colour change to White.

I am doing some cosmetic upgrades (as well as installing a 347 and power steering) and am in the process of having the engine bay refreshed in White, prior to installing the new engine. Hence I would prefer to have a period correct JAL tag and have provided the details of the car to allay any fears that I am doing a dodgy. If anyone has a blank or knows where I can obtain, please let me know.

If you are fitting a 347 and power steering and it has ben taced, why do you need to change the JAL. The one pictured looks to be a lot longer than origional. So cut a bit of metal the origional size and stamp it.

As you have noted Steven, the JAL tag is longer and is also the wrong shape. Simply cutting it shorter wont help. hence my question - where can I obtain a blank?

You can search for guestiesgarage on U.S. e bay. He currently has the correct blank tags listed for $14.95. Number stamp sets are easily available.

Why go to ePay when he's a member here?
Or flip over a SAL tag...

Using E bay does cover you if the item is lost or not as stated.

Hard to imagine Rick not handling any problems as well as any of our members. Priority mail includes insurance to boot.

Spot on Warren. Rick has been a pleasure to deal with and my JAL tag is winging its way to Aust
