Jensen Build Date

So today is the day my Tiger turns 60 years old according to the ledgers in the Book Of Norman
This date is called the Build Date and would like to know what that means ? I guess that it is when the car was
starting to be assembled but do not know. Can anyone enlighten what this build date represents ?

Best guess.. the day it received it's chassis tag. They arrived at Jensen with the JAL tag only. Jensen stamped the paint code engine number and the last number in the vin, to do this the tag would not have been yet fitted to the car.
