My name is Tyrone.
I've loved these cars since I was in my teens. My stepfather had one (MK1 I believe) and I just loved that car. Drove it once (but he didn't know. Or did he ? )
My user name is the California license plate of that car, IIRC. 40+ years ago....
The reason I joined is very specific. And please forgive me for my singleness of purpose. When I was in High School (About 1980-1981) I loved to draw. I did several stylized pieces of artwork (caricatures, if you will) of the family cars. This included a first gen Rabbit, our Mazda rotary pickup, and of course, the Tiger.
My stepdad sent the stylized sketch to C.A.T., and it ended up on the cover of Tiger Tales. He is long since gone, and we are estranged anyway (long story). Heck, he's probably dead. If anyone here has a copy of that issue, I would love to have a scan of the cover. Or maybe even an original.
