I am looking for an original battery clamp for the Positive (P) terminal. If I have to buy a set of both N and P clamps that’s fine, but hoping to find just the P clamp.
Thanks. British Wiring in PA has similar clamps. They are close but the P/N are stamped. I believe the Tiger clamps had the P/N cast and the letter is raised.
This is not my car, but the photo was provided by another poster. Obviously, the vinyl sleeve should slide up to insulate the cable near the clamp. You can also see the sleeve in the photo posted by pfreen.
That one be mine. Went out to garage and moved the sleeve up as close as I could to the terminal. Not sure how much bare wire was exposed when new. Also cleaned the corrosion off with some baking soda.
I wonder if the purpose of the sleeve was to prevent the positive cable from chaffing and eventually shorting out against the battery hold-down. That could explain why it was not at the terminal.
I just scored an original Positive (P) clamp. It came on the old battery cable. A little heat and it slid right off. I was also able to salvage the black vinyl insulation collar. It appears as if it might have been painted at some point. Looks a bit too shiny after I cleaned it up. I think i need to tone that down a bit.
