TE/AE United 36 Registration Now Open
Hi All
On behalf of the Virginias Region of Tigers East/Alpines East, I would like to invite you all to our United 36. This year will mark 40 years since we first “United” at Williamsburg, VA back in 1977. Returning to Virginia for 2017, United 36 will take place in historic and beautiful Staunton, VA September 21-24, 2017.
You do not need to be a TE/AE member to attend. We welcome the owners of ALL Rootes vehicles
So what do we have planned?
Thursday
Arrival and check-in. Hospitality Room opens at noon.
FridayThe driving tour/fun rally will take us down the twists and turns of the Blue Ridge Parkway and other scenic roads. We are working on the exact route, but rest assured it will be a memorable driving experience. We are also working on incorporating some sort of fun rally into the Friday drive.
The tour/rally will end and we will meet up for lunch at the Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company.
SaturdayAs is the tradition, our Concours event will be the centerpiece of the Saturday activities. The Concours will be held in Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro, VA, a twenty minute drive from the hotel. The area we have chosen is a large green dotted by shade trees with a covered shelter and picnic tables. At the conclusion of the Concours judging, we will hold our Annual General Membership Meeting. After the meeting we will enjoy a catered BBQ (cost included in registration fee) from Peck’s BBQ, one of the best BBQ restaurants in the region.
SundayThis year we will piggy-back on a SCCA Blue Ridge Region event located at the Augusta Co. Government Center, only three miles from the hotel. As an alternative for those not participating in or observing the autocross. A choice between two outings is available.
The club will host a wine tasting excursion to the CrossKeys Vineyards, one of the premier wineries in the area. We have arranged for a sampling of several different wines along with some appetizers.
For those wanting to play tourist, we will travel to Luray Caverns, one of the most popular attractions in the area. There we will enjoy a tour of the caverns and the Luray Car and Carriage Museum.
Finally, on Sunday evening we will hold our annual Awards Banquet in the banquet hall of the Holiday Inn.
Registration is now open online or via regular mail. See the TE/AE website at the link below.
