Steve, hopefully your "Special Project" is not turning an Alpine into an "Alger" - a fake Tiger!

You may have problems locating parts for your “special project” since they appear to be the laundry list of items needed to make a fake Tiger from an Alpine. Most reputable sellers will only sell Tiger specific components like the transmission tunnel when they are satisfied it will be used to repair a real Tiger (TAC’ed).

Personally I don't mind someone installing a SBF into an Alpine as long as the result is not portrayed as a Tiger. However a significant problem is that Algers created from Alpines often end up being sold and resold and eventualy pass to an unwary buyer as a Tiger. That's where things hit the fan. Consequently I've come to see Algers as potential time bombs.

Reputable sellers of Tiger specific parts will often want to learn more of the intended use than a “special project” description.”

I think you should have included this car is cuba based and to keep it on the road lots of changes were made from local supply as US supplies are not available.
I think you'll find this car is not a sunbeam and was just made to somewhat resemble one...

I think the laundry list is many, many, items short of a full load.

I have seen some butchered cars and tunnels, some to the point of the owner wanting a replacement.

I have a dog bone. The steering shaft is a big ask as all the guys with aftermarket front ends still use the stock Tiger column.
If they had made Tigers in late 1968 then you would have a collapsible steering column fitted per NHTSA regs. Others have fitted EPS and other steering columns. I can point to some threads on other forums and person's that have gone modified on their cars.

Wow, sorry for the topic drift . My point was it's a really different Alger or whatever it is, and there'll be no mistaking it for the real thing.

The owner has stated it was and is a Sunbeam
The owner has made a tribute to a sunbeam tiger.. It is not based on a sunbeam as can be seen by wheel base, track...then even things like the actual panels...they are not modified/ replaced sunbeam..

Guy states he made one as he had no access to one.... He based it on a Lada

Someone needs to contact the owner and ask what the title or paper work for the car shows it to be. That ends the speculation.

Well, this Forum Post went down a rabbit hole! My introduction to CAT members comments and thoughts. Interesting.

For those who responded, and provided parts, a big thank you. Project proceeding.
