Got around to removing the trunk latch and related. After getting hit in the head many times by the 'Hook' and realizing that in my case with the Fuel Cell the only way to get the trunk open would be to knock out the pins in the hinges. Always wanted to get rid of that mess as it too close to the back of the fuel cell.
Got some stainless and rubber hold downs from Amazon and drilled some holes. Removed the old lock and head bashing hook, and made a small plate to cover up and hold the loose plate in the boot lid.
Sadly I had to remove Tony the Tiger for the job.
