I was pretty proud of this stereo system when I installed it in the mid '80s but it finally being retired. Actually, it's been inactive for close to 30 years. I don't recall all the details but I seem to remember reading about the housing in Tiger Tales and getting one at a Ford dealer. It was a good fit and pretty easy to attach to the unused threaded holes on the dashboard supports.
If I knew then what I know now, I never would have cut any sheet metal but I'll deal with that now.
I guess it was worth it because I thought I was pretty cool cruising around listening to cassettes by Billy Idol, Van Halen etc.
I really like the look of the repo radio/speaker console that was available a few years ago. It will go below the restored original dashboard. Equip it with hidden bluetooth and I'll be both period correct and up to date, sound-wise.
