Archive Temporary Closure

I just received the following from Archive Trustee Andy Bye.

Due to concerns about the Covid-19 virus, the Archive is temporarily closed. This will cancel some of the Archive's income generating events.

Two ways we can help are by either donating to help pay off the remaining debt or by signing up to become a "Friend" of the Archive.

BTW, donations made between now and the end of June will be matched on a dollar for dollar basis.
(Note: with the dollar to pound exchange rate now favoring the dollar at or near record levels, right now is the best time ever for us to donate.)

Temporary Closure of the Rootes Archive Centre
Following the latest advice from Public Health England, the Rootes Archive Centre is now temporarily closed to the public and we have cancelled all events planned at the centre up to the end of June.
The well being of our Friends and visitors is one of our highest priorities and we will miss seeing you all.
We will regularly update our website and social media channels with Rootes news and should circumstances change we will of course let you know we are open again.
During this period, it may be difficult for us to provide information, drawings and photographs as we usually do, unless we have them already digitized and available to us at home but always worth asking us.
As a UK charity, we truly value your ongoing support with our mission to purchase and operate our own Rootes Archive building. We still need to repay £16,000 and whilst this cancellation of events will possibly delay our repayment plans through a lack of income generation, we can all be content that the Rootes Archive material is safe for generations to come.
We wish you and your families continued safety and good health and will be in contact with regular updates.
Best wishes
The Rootes Archive Centre Trustees 19th March 2020

Tiger Tales Alert

In the March - April edition of Tiger Tales (which you should be getting in a week or two), there is a blurb with the dates that the Rootes Archive Centre Trust was scheduled to be opened. Looks like many of the dates for this year will see it closed. For those of you thinking about paying it a visit, be sure to double check that it will be open on the date you are planning. That is, when flying across the pond becomes a possibility again.
