Emergency Stop Switch

Added an external easy to reach (for safety crew) Push-Pull E-Stop switch to the old fuel filler cap area. Got the gasket from the old filler neck (looked to be home made) and used that as a pattern. Use the Mini-Bandsaw to cut out a piece of .125" thick scrap aluminum with some generous disc sanding to clean it up. I used the Allen Bradley specs for the hole with appropriate notches, in which I lucked out and had a giant Unibit that had the correct size for the hole, then used a file for the indexing notch. Couple of coats of trunk speckle paint and sealer and good to go.

I love the industrial switches and lucky there is a bountiful source on eBay as these switches are crazy expensive. Need to change out the pilot light from 28v to 12v and all done until wiring. Picked up a couple of spares as a lot purchase as well as one with an ORANGE button. Going to paint up one of the yellow escutcheon plates to a solid red just for grins. Fun simple project.

All of this wires up to the Master Switch on though the dash harness.

Note before you ask, YES there is a MAIN BATTERY CUT OFF SWITCH as well. This is one that is designed to remove power to ignition and fuel systems. There is also a easy reach toggle switch on the trans tunnel that has the same functionality so the drive can flip it without reaching while in a harness. Trying to add a few bits of safety in an otherwise scary car :)

I can just see you passing your competition and the guy reaches out and hits the button...LOL! Good job, really.
