Finally cooled down here in So. Cal last couple of days, and took advantage to get working on the interior of the car.

Gave it a last wire wheel, (some 3M TN Scotchbright wheel which removes anything) then an Acetone wipe down. And finally some old school Rustoleum red rust primer. Applied with a brush and roller. Will for sure need a second coat. This will sit for a few days to bake, then start again. Looks a lot less ugly in the passenger compartment now.

Also cleaned up the 'bondo' on the front edge of the dash area. I filled in all the spot welds to have a smooth surface as I'm not going to run the foam pad. This area will get some textured flat black paint to kill any reflections.

The next step a light touch up primer coat, then some satin black, trunk speckle paint and finally satin clear top coat to make durable.

Added a second coat of the rolled on Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer for a really good sealing coat. Let it dry for a few days and then on with some of the Satin Black paint. I hit the corners with a brush, and then the rest was the mini-roller. Almost got the entire first coat on before it just got way too hot to paint. Just about done with the thick Rustoleum, then onto the last bits with Trunk Speckle paint and a satin top coat to be done with this mess.

I'm pretty sure the Rustoleum rusty metal primer is the same color, just contains less Asbestos and Plutonium so it may have a slightly different tint based on the half life of the Plutonium and when in time the color is graded. I think the Pantone color system has the color but without the asbestos as that stuff is dangerous...

Half-life is always a consideration, that said... you've given me an idea of how we can measure our race motors.... no longer by BHP....but half life.... each race meet it takes 50% off the reliability from the meet before

Increase the reliability by switching to an engine instead of using a motor. That is if you're not green.

While the idea of switching to an Engine is a good one, I have really been toying with the idea of putting in a power plant, seems more appropriate for this car.
