Working on the automatic fire system today on the Tiger. In trying to find a mounting point for the bottle, it seems the only place I can fit it will be smack in the middle of the rear. The bottle must be facing with the valve forward for best protection in a wreck (Think about it).

The work here was to flatten out a space over the driveshaft hump to allow the tank to sit flat. I didn't want to put it behind either seat as the head of the bottle needs to be accessible as well as possible danger of seat contacting the valve.
Got the hammer and gave it a go... Almost worked. But not enough to tuck the tank far enough back where I wanted. So out comes the air hammer and a sheet metal former from Steck.
It did a good job to flatten it out, a small tear, which I sorta' expected having used this tool for a trans tunnel bulge on another car. Will hit it with the welder and smooth is out with the grinder and body filler.
Had to make a small support for the front of the tank since it still had a bit of down hill slope still and figured I would be pressing my luck trying to get the rear down any further.
The bottle is out of the way of much of anything and not going to spear you from behind. Will need to figure out plumbing for the sensing line and water lines to the nozzles. This is a secondary system that is automatic, if the sensing line gets too hot, it will activate the system without user involvement, the primary system is a "Pull to activate" halon 1211 and will only have nozzles in the engine and trunk areas as the Halon is less effective in an open car then the water based solution the other system has.
