Autozone lists a Dorman 690-028.1 as correct for a 1965 Ford 289 with a stick.

Nope.

The specs are .630 ID. Should be .668

I don't know what trans has that size input, in that time frame.

And the pain is, few stores stock it. So to order it and have it Wrong, beyond disgusting!

BTW the National-PB50F is another choice, most likely better.

And the new generation of counter experts will continue to be correct despite all evidence to the contrary.

It looks like the correct Dorman part number is 690-039.

Seeing may be believing...
