Do the 2 holes in the top of the front end do anything or can they have a rubber plug inserted. The reason I am asking is my Tiger has a Miata power steering rack mounted. It developed a leak but I could not see any fluid on the floor. I had to remove the radiator for another reason and found the front end full of steering fluid. I tightened all the steering fittings, cleaned the front end and rack. A lot of fluid came out in the cleaning. Now the rack is tight why are there the 2 holes in the top the rack to attract things that are likely to corrode the rack from inside ?

Assembly Puzzle

The old Guru in weld/fab has decreed those hole were there for assembly alignment. Note the 2 different sizes to prevent the post liquid lunch lads from getting it placed ass backwards.
