Lads,
one of the guys on the Boss 302 site wanted to know where the rear end width, or track is measured at? Outside, inside or middle of the wheels.

Any help and I can pass it on.

I believe it is from the outside of the brake drum (where the wheel mounts up) to the same place on the opposite side.

Depends on what exactly you are asking.

The rear track width of the car is measured center-to-center of the tires.

The width of the rear axle is measured drum-to-drum.

The rear track width can be changed without changing the axle width with different offset wheels.

Jeff's description is how i understand it... back int he day a common mod for alpine racers was to "square the track" on the cars by moving the counterpoint of the rear wheels out so that the car didnt have the inset at the back of the stock road cars.

Thanks boys,

the fellow is setting up the fixed ramps to accommodate the narrower rear track of a couple of Tigers he is bringing home. The current setup was just a bit to wide.

He didn't explain where the cars are coming from, guess he didn't want anything jinxed.

I have passed the info on to him.
