The owner of this "Tribute Sebring Alpine" had a real bad day. October 2000. He was a bit ticked at me for taking the photos. Posting them on the WWW tested our friendship. But who could resist?
not funny that he had a bad day,,i just thought the picture was a little funny..we just had a good friend with a alpine racing at gingerman raceway break an axle and basically ended up rolling over..
i wouldnt say known for breaking axles,,but yes they do break and when they do in extreme conditions{like racing or hard street driving}it could end up very bad..Chris McCartys alpine just rolled because of that two weeks ago.{i have pictures of the wreckage if anyone wants to see them}but anyways with alpines being as old they are it might be wise to check all moving and non moving parts before attending a track event,,sometimes axles get overlooked in those checks...
