Most plates I have seen have ben in the under 300 range but I bet that they will skyrocket before the end of YOM.

YOM is a service to DMV pretty soon a car plate will has and be as hard to read as a modern 7 digit motorcycle plate and 8 digits are coming to your hood soon cause they are running out of numbers.

When you ask the lame employees questions about the Antique Vehicles or Historic white plates the act like you are speaking Greek and are puzzled. I mean really how much can it cost to get those convicts to work making lic. plates?

Sorry for the rant, but it is amazing what they pass, or cram down our throats when we who are effected aren't looking or are not in control of legislature or the Supreme court.

From their numbers,

If they get 7500 applications and make their repop plates X 40 per year is $300,000 every year the plate is active.

Every year the repop yellow with black letters,black plates with yellow letters or blue with yellow letters they get 40 bucks extra for doing nothing and providing the worlds worst service.

Pretty easy money for allowing someone to have a colored lic. plate. More easy money when they instruct meter maids to cite any car with an altered plate, EX. repainted.

From the scuttlebutt I hear big guys like Jay Leno et al were in part responsible for the YOM program and the work around is a kick in every car guys ass. It is also a take away for and from those hard workers that got YOM thru the legislative process.

By the way YOM plates cannot be non operated forcing a guaranteed renewa for the gov't. In addition let's say you buy a car that is non operational in January go to re activate it and the Registration calendar year is Feb, they force you to pay the whole year for 30 days.
To add to the F you let's say you pay late by one day on the next renewal the late fee is like 25%

My example assumes they do not pay the convicts which I am sure is not true.
I bet we pay em to work then they buy cigarettes and then we have to give them equal health care when they get cancer. While the rest of the working stiffs pay for their 3 squares cable tv and internet porn.

This effects all sooner or later as most states follow Ca's money grubbing lead.

I am not that tan and I would never ruin a perfectly good shotgun when I could buy buckshot rounds for my 380, and like Bond I prefer a PPK

It is a great looking plate you have and you to your credit you brought up the end of the YOM and it deserves its own new thread.
