Map light chrome cover

I have a few map lights in their original bags (5041255), they are black. Don't know if Rootes went to black on production cars, maybe the MKII, 1969 Alpine? Or just on the replacements.

The inside is marked SPARTO REF.No.5911

all the ones I've seen on Mk1a and mk2 cars are black... the part number referenced above is noted for series 3 and later in the factory Alpine parts list. the earlier part number is 5039585. Shown for series 2 Alpine. The earlier map light assy didn't have a switch on the baseplate
