Wow - some great photos of your progress. What caught my attention was the photo of your new engine sitting in the new crate with those very tall valve covers. I was wondering how they would fit, but you took care of that by using LAT valve covers. Thanks for sharing!

I am using the tiger valve covers not the included chrome ones.

That looks like a 50oz harmonic balancer, how much clearance will this provide for the steering rack assuming the stock crossmember will be used.

I am getting ready for an engine swap myself, may also go the tremec route, currently using the AMC T5 5-speed. I dont know if I will go with a crate motor or rebuild my current 302. Would like to learn about the challenges with installing and setup of the tremec. Seems like an easy replacement but I dont have lift so this makes it more difficult I think.

Our esteemed Tiger Tales editor Mike Michels did a very comprehensive write up on his trials and tribulations of installing the Tremec 5 speed. First the TKO, and then the TKX. It was only about a year ago or so that it appeared in Tiger Tales. and BTW...it was not done with a lift.

I'm using a Professional Products balancer https://www.summitracing.com/parts/pfs-80007/make/ford that has the same length as the original 28 oz-in balancer used on the 260, and it also has the three-bolt drilling on the front. So the stock belt pulleys fit with the stock clearance to the rack.
