Hi Norm, that does seem like a very tidy and complete car.

I didn't know you could put a later style hardtop on an early car like that.

Bob the car is a Series 3, they were the corss over between the early cars (fins) and the later cars. The S3 introduced the 1/4 lights and upright windscreen frame (and the angular hardtop), microcess seats, telescopic rear shocks, GT model with wooden dash, telescopic steering and the revised boot layout with the tanks in the wings.

it's a series 3 GT. the series 3 was the first alpine to have the gas tanks in the fenders and the redesigned trunk. it does have the early style fins but rootes did change the windshield to the late style and added the wing windows. it was the first series of alpine to use the late style hard top.
