Shelby American TIGER Documents STOLEN!
In early December the original Shelby American Tiger documentation from 1963 to 1967 was stolen from a private residence in Riverside County, California.
The thieves managed to remove the door from a 700 pound fire rated safe to access the collection.
Carroll Shelby had retained these for many years and eventually gave them to Frank Zizzo. The collection included Tiger related contracts, letters, work orders, ledger pages and billings involving Shelby American and Rootes Motors. Many have been referenced over the years in issues of Tiger Tales. Fortunately, many years ago Frank allowed CAT to borrow them for scanning so at least the information is still available.
It's possible that the thieves may try to sell these items. If you happen to come across Tiger related documents from Shelby American please contact this Forum’s Admin or the Riverside Sheriff’s office in Cabazon, CA (951) 922-7100 regardingcase/file # B243500019
